Domestic Abuse
Domestic abuse encompasses far more than physical violence. It includes emotional manipulation, psychological harm, financial control, coercive behaviour and harassment, all of which have legal remedies available swiftly through the family courts. We act with urgency and precision to protect those at risk.
What this covers

Occupation Orders
Securing exclusive legal occupation of the family home and excluding an abusive party, with powers of arrest attached where appropriate.
Coercive & Controlling Behaviour
Advising on the legal framework under the Serious Crime Act 2015 and supporting civil and criminal proceedings arising from coercive control.
Stalking Protection Orders
Applying for protective orders under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and the Stalking Protection Act 2019 where continued risk is present.
Our approach
How we approach domestic abuse matters
We understand that contacting a solicitor is often the hardest step. Our approach is to listen carefully and understand the full picture before advising on the fastest and most effective route to safety and legal protection.
Emergency non-molestation orders can be obtained ex-parte, meaning without notice to the other party, and are frequently in place within twenty-four hours. Where there is an immediate risk of harm, we will also apply for an occupation order to restore exclusive occupation of the family home and ensure a safe environment.
We work closely with specialist support services and can help coordinate safe housing, financial assistance and referrals to counselling. Legal protection is most effective when it sits within a wider safety plan, and we will help you build one tailored to your circumstances.
Every enquiry is handled with absolute discretion. You will speak directly to a solicitor who understands the dynamics of abuse and the urgency of your situation. We do not pass clients down a chain of juniors. The person you speak to is the person who runs your matter.
Process
What to expect
Confidential consultation
We listen to your situation in full and set out the protections available to you, without obligation and in strict confidence.
Emergency application
Where circumstances require immediate protection, we prepare and issue an urgent without-notice application, often the same day.
Service and return hearing
We ensure the order is properly served and prepare for the return hearing at which the other party has the opportunity to respond.
Ongoing support
We advise on varying or extending orders and handle related financial and children matters as they arise alongside the protective proceedings.
